It is possible to drive via Varkaus and visit the "Museum" of Mechanical Music. Quite a crazy place and worth visiting.

We will be using a scenic route including “Rally of 1000 lakes” roads.
Visit to Kissakoski museum and handicraft centre in Hirvensalmi. Hirvensalmi means "Moose stream", so be careful on the roads. A moose can weight up to 500 kilos.

OVERNIGHT AT one of the the local huntermen´s cottages in the area (near Merrasmäki). Nox luxorious at all, much like bush camping style. No running water, but a clean small river. You won't find this place without instructions, so be sure you are awake at the Ajajakokous (Drivers' Meeting). Every team will be given a detailed road book of Finland at start and this can take you to the smallest possible trails in the deep forests of Finland.

LOCATION: Drive about 10 km east from Hirvensalmi village direction Mikkeli. Turn right to "Merrasmäki" (this is a Rally of 1000 Lakes road), drive about 5 km and the huntermen's cottage is hidden in the woods on your left hand side. There should be a Citroen sign along the road.

A clue to understand the road maps: "Alku" in Finnish means start, "Loppu" is end and "piste" is point.
