We have been zigzagging in Finland for about one week now, but we are still just half way of the length of Finland. Time to do some more kilometres on this leg. The roads are good and traffic is quiet, but please keep your eye on road and the forest nearby: we are now in the reindeer area and those animals have the least knowledge of traffic rules. They tend to do everything in just the opposite way.

In Raua you can visit the well-knownwildlife park and zoo.

Jalavan Kauppa & pirttikahvila, Taivalkoski (Jalava Shop & home café, Taivalkoski) is a place really worth visiting. An old-timer shop, where you still feel the 19th century athmosphere. Although it is located in its original building, it is not a museum – you can make some serious business here and buy shoes, clothes, fishing and hunting equipment, candies...
The building was expanded 1997 in order to have the Café house there. They serve fresh home-made pastries as well as food. Here you can even celebrate weddings, birthdays etc.

Posio is known of PENTIK pottery where you could visit the factory shop.

On our route, we can visit Auttiköngäs; (Autti rapids) a beautiful and impressive place with a 3,5km-long circle trail – but you can also walk only to the dam bridge, about 500 m from the parking area. The place is located along road 81 just a little before we turn North on road 944. See "Autti" on the map book.

OVERNIGHT at Matkatupa Camping Luusuantie 2661, 98230  LUUSUA (Kemijärvi) which is located almost exactly at the Arctic Circle: party time including some weird ceremonies!

LOCATION: Drive North direction "Kemijärvi" passing the village of Luusua. After some 5 km you will cross a nice spot with water both sides of the road and now keep your eye on signs for the camping which is on the right side. The camping ig 26 km before Kemijärvi.
